"if i ruled the world" ........Hahahahahahaha!

If you really knew your own potential to feel good, you would ask no one to be different just so that you could feel good. You would ask no one else to change simply for your comfort. You would free yourself of all of that cumbersome needing to control the world, or control your mate, or control your child. You are the only one who creates your reality. For no one else can think for you, no one else can do it. It is only you, every bit of it you.
Esther Hicks paraphrased

I had a conversation with one of my children who complained that a certain time period he recently spent away from home went from "great" to "blah"...i asked why the "blah" part was "blah"...after he explained, we talked about how in many situations we can't change the circumstances we are in so we have to change the way we LOOK AT and REACT TO the circumstances...THAT is difficult and is really a discipline, creating the habit by using that time to work on patience or to find something to be grateful for in the midst of your "blah" or "grrrr" situation...the sweeter scenario is being in those situations and realizing there ARE things you can do to change them!  in my child's particular "blah" circumstances, he actually had complete control of the 'specifics' and if he had been THINKING instead of letting negative emotions get the better of him, the time might never have moved from "great" to "blah."  though i'm sure this wasn't a 'new' concept to him (knowing i have repeated it and ideas like it since he was tiny!) it settled into him deeper this time...he walks around the house now, making decisions, then yelling crazily, "TAKIN' CONTROL OF MY LIFE!"  he's being silly when he says it but he's also creating a habit that will serve him well for the rest of his days!  it is exciting and fun for this mom to watch!

One area of our lives over which we have complete control is our physical health.  Common ailments and diseases such as colds, ear infections, sinus infections, allergies, migraines, diabetes, arthritis, even physical pain due to anxiety, stress, depression or unchangeable life, family or work circumstances can be managed or eliminated by eating nourishing, healing foods.

my life is no different from anyone else's; trauma and tragedy strike, "life gets me down," i am susceptible to those cold germs left on door handles, the bank account dwindles before all is paid for or there is no money left for "luxuries"...but for a long time now, after practicing, after discipline, after securing the habit in place, i am in control of my life...i can walk into the pain of trauma trusting all will be o.k., i can choose to focus on the positives in my life and not the negatives, i can even see the negatives not as negatives at all, but as opportunities, i can eat something healing when i feel my body weaken from what's currently "going around," i can go for a hike or play a board game with my kids or have a meaningful, intimate conversation with my husband when there is no money for luxuries like movies and dinners out...it turns out 'poverty' ignites creativity and leaves a HUGE space for depth and passion and meaning in one's life and relationships and you come to realize it is not 'poverty' at all!

it is liberating to take control of your life, but it is scary at first if it is not your habit...if i want to be like the bird who chooses to stay in one place, it is because i can, not for any other reason...and i CAN stay in one place because i can also 'fly anywhere on the earth' and i know that i WILL if it is what i want or need to do!  i don't need to rule the world, or rule over my mate, or over my children because i actually DO rule ME and MY world, and it turns out that is ALL you need to be truly happy, content, inspired, creative, passionate, and loving.

May you truly know your potential for feeling good, for letting go, for allowing others to just BE, for taking control of your life, for changing circumstances when you can and for looking at them differently when you can't...may you learn to be your own best friend, may you know what it is to TRUST that LIFE is on your side!
